Happy new year people! I hope 2020 is treating you all well, for me it’s like the year came will the to do schedules from the future hence the reason this post is a little late but not the reason for its length. There isn’t much to tell, the photos speak for themselves.
I am always telling a good friend of mine that there is only a limit to the much i can spend within Nairobi on a get away. You try looking trust you me you’ll be spoilt for choice. The number of all the beautiful convenient places you’ll find here, ooh my goodness! The places come in handy on those instances when one doesn’t feel like hours of traveling . End of last year was one of those moments and we found just the spot far enough for an immersive escape into the savanna and close enough to the city but ideal for our sole purpose; relaxation.
Swara Acacia Lodge in Athi river is an easy one hour drive/ Uber from Nairobi central business district and slightly less from JKIA. Set next to Swara Plains Wildlife Conservancy the lodge offers an opportunity to explore the savanna. It consists of 20 boutique cottages,a restaurant offering an a la carte menu and a bar. For the activities they have archery (this however wasn’t available when we visited as they were re locating the activity to another section of the lodge as it was close to the massage room), yoga, safari bike rentals and safari hikes, swimming and of course game drives. The lodge is family friendly, i’ d highly recommend it for those with families as its friendly to children of all ages plus they have a kids safari club. It’s also ideal for team buildings, conferences and weddings. For more information( contacts and rates) you can check out their website.

Which is the one place close enough to Nairobi that you’d recommend for me? Let me know on the comment section.
I was inspired to do this post for my readers with families and the group that don’t like traveling but love getting away every now and then. Thank you for stopping by and i do hope you found today’s post informative.
Cheers
Ray
