
Merry Christmas 🎅🎄Hi there i trust you’ve been and are keeping safe. I have been wondering what to throw down these walls before the year ends and then it hit me, KAJIADO! As you all know by now the county has a special place in my heart and i figured i could share with you afew places i have been to over the years that i’d recommend and some that am yet to visit. If i am to be honest ten is such a small number, the county has alot to offer. Like am always saying if escaping the rat race and heading deep into the wild for a weekend of sheer relaxation is your idea of bliss, enhance the whole experience by making sure your holiday home is the sweetest place on earth. Here are some of the homes that’ll live up to that. The first six i have blogged about in the past, click on the links in each destination for more info.
- 1.Oltalet cottages

Located about 40 kms from Nairobi, via Magadi Road next to the famous Ole Polos lies Ol talet cottages boasting contemporary styling and ambiance that calms ones senses as they soak in the spectacular surroundings – a great area for walkers – but the best of all. Having been here twice alot has changed between the two visits. Ol talet accomodates 8 people at full capacity while Oloika accomodates 6. I however wish their calls could be responded to fast enough because the booking process can be a nightmare at times. Otherwise everything else is great.
2. Olmaroroi House

Olmaroroi house is set within the rift valley with magnificent vast views across the rift valley with Mounts Suswa and Longonot at the far ends roughly under 2hrs from Nairobi central business district. This modern Lamu inspired villa features four bedrooms, a kitchen, Tv lounge, table tennis area, outdoor barbecue and dining area, indoor fire place and a tent. It features different experiences in every corner full of stunning furnishings and beautiful decor, its modern yet inviting. It’s nestled overlooking the mountains and valleys thus offering its inhabitants jaw dropping scenery that extends to the horizon. The well thought of tranquil outdoor living spaces are enticing to say the least . The floor-to-ceiling windows creates seamless indoor-outdoor connection. The house also features an inviting, stunning lap pool that is a perfect touch if you asked me. Their services are impeccable. The house accomodates 10pax at full capacity.
3. Orbitir Burrow

Located about 25 minutes from Karen , via Ngong in Ololua lies Orbitir Burrow boasting contemporary styling and ambiance that calms ones senses as they soak in the spectacular surroundings. This stunning modern tent re defines glamping. It offers a beautiful display of warmth and comfort while offering chic interior styling. From the moment of entry, you are invited into a home full of fine details and custom furnishings. It fulfills the dreams of a couple of empty nesters looking for a place to dwell in nature. Spacious outdoor areas offers comfortable seating surrounded by lush greenery, offering relaxation and tranquility. The tent only accommodates two people at full capacity. The booking process is seamless and their services the absolute best. It’s also easily accessible via uber.
4. Olelek Ranch House

When you hear the word “Ranch” it’s common to think of a salad dressing or a farm full of roaming cows and probably, probably some cowboys. Olelek ranch house, a 7 bed-roomed house is the contrary to that. Lovely views, distinctive styling and country living is what it’s all about, what awaits you. A private house for guests who desire a serene Kenyan Rift valley holiday destination. Olelek Ranch House is set on a 16 acre ranch in a Maasai neighborhood. It’s a 2 hrs drive from Kenya’s capital on the Nairobi – Namanga Highway and 15 kms from Kajiado town where 10 kms are a bumpy ride. The house is set between two seasonal rivers. When the weather is as stunning as the view, it makes sense to appreciate the outdoors space. The house boasts a private plunge pool which by the way is available on request as water is scarce. The pool isn’t the only thing you get at the ranch house. There is a large deck as well. Not the decorative, display a potted plant kind of deck but the gather around a barrel, strum the guitar, play games, drink lemonade,wine or whiskey kind of deck. The kind that beckons friends and housemates to sit a spell. Olelek customer service is also great. They have the main house and the smaller one (a two bedroom) accommodating 16 and 4 pax respectively.
5. Olohoro Onyore

Olohoro Onyore is sublimely set on a cliff in Champagne ridge roughly 30kms south off Nairobi central business district, one of the regions finest holiday destinations, with unspoilt landscape views that extend as far as the eye can see. The property is along Magadi road via Rongai and Kiserian. From kiserian at Corner baridi take a left and around 12kms along this road you’ll find Olohoro Onyore. The main house accomodates 6pax at full capacity while the smaller one takes up 4.
6. Enchipai cottages

At the heart of Isinya escarpment in Kajiado County rests Enchipai cottages offering extensive views of the Great Rift Valley with a wild feel of the Savanna and charming sceneries of the natural landscape. Isolated, the cottages offer a peaceful alternative to hotel accommodation and the gated entrance provides security and privacy. The cottages are custom built and uniquely decorated to easily accommodate a group of friends or sweethearts for a romantic getaway. It’s a mix of many classic, simple designs. The cottages are refurbished and extended to create a characterful and charming village like traditional hut, with all the luxury essentials and special touches one could wish for.
7.Soap house

This one is a result of a conversion of a soap making barn to a 2 bed/bath bungalow with amazing light and repurposed antique doors and windows. Its 45 minutes away from Karen and a 5minutes walk from Anselm’s Kitengela hot glass. It accommodates 4 guests.
8. The container house

Extra cool and off grid the container house hangs on a cliff just an easy drive from Nairob perfect for 4 people seeking to escape their normal routine to enjoy a good view. The house is a 30 minutes drive from Nairobi and 5.4kms from kimuka trading center. It can be accessed by taxi.
9. The castle

The Castle is located 18kms from kiserian town on an all weather dirt road in the heart of maasai land away from the city’s busy life. Accommodating 6 guests at full capacity the Castle is the perfect getaway from the city. If grilling nyama choma on a spacious balcony while soaking in the views is something you and your friends may love, don’t say i didn’t plug you😀
10. Enkaji osiwo

Enkaji Osiwo House at the edge of the Rift Valley, just 1.5 hours away from Nairobi is highly likely going to tickle your fancy. This quaint little house sleeps 4 people in one double bedroom and a twin room. The house comes with a cosy living room and fireplace, basic kitchen and a huge veranda perfect for sundowners, a perfect place to take advantage of the spectacular views as you soak in the best of Africa’s peace and tranquillity. You will however need a 4×4 to get to the house.
